Donna J Swaggerty

Donna was born on November 17, 1960 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Earl and Sue Wilson. Donna worked as an executive assistant with Columbus Public Schools. She would then re-enter the workforce after her children grew where she worked as an executive assistant at The International Association of Machinists (IAMW) District 54. Donna herself was also a member of the local 321 Union. Donna loved to be active in her youth she could often be found playing softball on her church team or white water rafting in West Virginia. Donna’s favorite pastime activity was volunteering for her children’s school trips and functions as well.

Donna was a wonderful wife, mom, and ‘mamaw’ who was ALWAYS there when her family needed her. She loved cooking, she loved to grill the most - no matter what time of year. She was the BBQ master in the family! Her chili being one of her most requested recipes. She also had many friends and she was a well-loved member of the community. Donna made many friends throughout her life in her various travels throughout the State and Country. She will be loved and missed by many.

Donna is preceded in death by her father Sgt. Earl E. Wilson, brother David R. Wilson, father-in-law Garland W. Swaggerty, brother-in-law Randall R. Swaggerty, along with their beloved dog, Brutus.

Donna’s memory will live on with her husband, Garland “Mike” Swaggerty; her children, Heather (Andrew) Trick and Michael Swaggerty; her grandchild Isaac Trick (and future); her mother, Sue Wilson; her brother Edward L. Wilson; and her mother-in-law Ruby J. Swaggerty, along with many other relatives and friends.

Family will accept friends from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, Ohio. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00pm.
