Dorcas J. Elliott, age 87, of Galloway, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020. She was born on October 16, 1933 in Columbus to the late Hilliard and Eunice Carter. Dorcas married Curnell Elliott and from this union had 6 lovely children 5 girls and a boy, as if they were not enough, she decided to adopt one more. Dorcas passion was to workout. When she wasn't working then she could be found working out either at the gym or one of the local tracks getting her miles in! Dorcas loved to travel and some of her favorite destinations were to California, Florida and even an occasional trip to the Bahamas. Outside of being a traveler and great mom, she was also our beloved Grannie! As much as she loved her kids, she loved her grandkids as well as her great grandkids just as much. Grannie could be found playing tea party or jump rope and twerking with the grandkids or just loving on them whenever she got a chance! Sometimes the love had to be tough love, but you always knew the love was there from Grannie. Grannie, mom, mommy, Dorcas was a woman of many names and was a beautiful soul and a great woman that added so much to so many peoples lives. Dorcas will be sorely missed, but at the same time that she is missed, her memory will bring a smile and warm feelings of love to our hearts, so that we will know everything is going to be ok. Dorcas was preceded in death by her parents: father, Hilliard, and mother, Eunice Carter; daughters: Karen and Cynthia; sisters, Kathryn, Hazel, Betty and Mary; brothers, William and George; grandson, Jason; and son-in-law Earnest. Dorcas leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children: Sylvia Elliot, Janet Elliot, Connie (Bobby) Slater, Brenda Phillips, Curnell Elliot and Renee Elliot. Grandchildren: KaLee, Nick, Devin, Ché, Woody, James, Chanel, Brandon, Stephanie, Bobby Jr., Christina, and L.B.; 28 beautiful great-grandkids and many more nieces and nephews. Cherished friend, Mike Digiannantoni, and a host of other family members as well as friends. A private Home Going will be held on Monday December 14, 2020, due to Covid-19.
