

Doris A. Pietrangelo, age 90, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Tucson, Arizona died on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at The Villas at St. Therese in Columbus, Ohio. Doris was born on February 26, 1920 in Mt. Vernon; she was the daughter of the late Otto and Gertrude Baker. Doris was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert P. Pietrangelo; daughter, Nancy L. Chupek; and brother, Charles Fenton Baker. She was a 1937 graduate of St. Vincent De Paul High School and a long time member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish. After her children were grown, she worked as the office manager for a local physician group. Doris and Al retired to Tucson residing there for 18 years where they were active in St. Joseph Hospital and Parish and community volunteering. In Mt. Vernon, Doris was a member of Soroptimist, charter member of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and St. Vincent PTA. She enjoyed golf and antiques. Doris was devoted to her family and had many friends in Mount Vernon and Tucson. She is survived by her children,
Mary Ann (James) Gill Mechenbier and Gary (Debra) Pietrangelo; grandchildren, Mary Ann Weaver, David Gill, Jr,, Bernie Chupek, Jr., Lisa, Sam, Art and Gail Pietrangelo; and great grandchild, Steven Weaver. A memorial mass for Doris and luncheon reception for family and friends will be on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 303 East High Street Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, Father Mark Hammond, celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date at Northern Cemetery in Smithfield, Ohio.
