Dorie was born on August 30, 1937 in Brighton, England to the late Joseph Storey and Emily Ester Ellen Willett. She met and married Joseph Trzcinski on December 11, 1954 while he was stationed in England. They lived in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York until they moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1966. She worked at Southard Company Printing and then retired from National Graphics. Dorie and her family were members of St. Mathias Catholic Church.
Dorie was a loving wife and mother. Her family was her greatest accomplishment. She loved having family cookouts and gatherings. Dorie would talk to her family either by phone or person every day. Her favorite pastime was gardening, especially her rose bushes. Dorie loved cooking for her family. Dorie and Joe enjoyed bowling and were part of a bowling league.
In addition to her parents, Dorie is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Trzcinski; her son-in-law, Richard Kirton; and her sister, Betty (Chester) Ross.
She is survived by her children, Dave (Sandy) Trzcinski, Theresa Kirton, Tom Trzcinski, Pete Trzcinski, and Tony (Nicole) Trzcinski; her grandchildren, Adriane, Amanda, Amber, Julie, Francesca, Christopher, Caitlin, Aaron, Samuel, Madyson, Sophia, and Nicholas; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Pete (Jill) Storey; her nephew and niece, Chris (Linda) Storey and Teresa (Julian) Storey; her cousin, Jean Stubbs; and many other relatives and friends.
Family will accept friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, May 9, 2025 at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, OH 43229 where a Rosary Service will be at 6:45pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 10, 2024. Dorie will be laid to rest next to Joe at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
