

Dorothy A. Cowan, age 94, of Columbus passed away peacefully
at Columbus Alzheimer's Care
Center on Friday, September 22, 2017.
She was born on December 28, 1922, in London, Ohio. She was one of twelve children of the late Thomas Harrison and Lucy Maebelle "Irene" (Peterman) Whisner. Dorothy was a devoted, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. Survived by her daughter Dottie (Clyde B.) Friesland, Columbus, OH; son, Clayton (Linda) Havier, Calif; former daughter-in-law, Dolores Havier, 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters; her husbands, J. Alex Havier and Robert E. Cowan and two great- great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a devoted member of the South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved doing yard work, spending time with her family, and helping out anyone she could.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2515 Lockbourne Rd, Columbus, OH.
A memorial talk will be given by Richard "Deano" French.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
