Good Morning and sorry for the delay in responding to the wonderful comments, memories, and candles lit in our Mother's name.  She loved all of you very much.  You were all Dottie and Chuck's kids.

Our Mother will be sorely missed, but we were lucky to have had her for so many years. We couldn't have asked to be born to a better Mother, or Father, than Dottie and Chuck. Mom only knew pure kindness, forgiveness, unconditional love, and loyalty to Family and Friends.  

She hung on for twelve years after Dad's passing, longing to be with him every hour of every day.  She, we believe, died of a broken heart.  And that is sad, but true (and beautiful) in the same sense. To have loved and adored our Father like she did, is a testimony that true love is still alive/out there. Bravo Momma.  

Mom, you are now free from this world we humans do not sometimes understand; free from all the pain and suffering you went through at the end; free of all sin now (even though you were as close to a living Saint as I have ever met); and free to be with Pops, your beloved.

Mom, you are a wonderful Soul, there is no regret left here below.  You ran the race, you fought the good fight.  You did everything right sweetie. It was always about others, and not about yourself Mom (and Dad).  "Unselfish" should have been another one of her /Dad's names.

We are so proud to be Dottie and Chuck's kids. Forever indebted to their unlimited love and kindness.  

Lastly, we are not saying good-bye, but instead good-journey.  For we here down below on Earth, hope to live a good enough life to be allowed to see you again. We hope, by the end of our mortal lives, we shall have lived up to your beautiful, wonderful example on how to be a good human-being.

I remember when Dorothy was working in Jim's office and wanted to take some time off to do fun things with Brittany and Brandon, like go to the zoo.  Dorothy taught me how to keep the books (pre-computers).  I remember she told me that she was not very good in "arithmetic" but when I reconciled my records with the bank statements, being close was not good enough.  You had to be correct to the PENNY.  I can remember looking closely at checks that had been written to see if we had misread a number that we entered into the adding machine.  Dorothy was a great teacher!

I later learned what a card shark she was!  We would play poker at the Jasper's house and she would always win.  At the end of the game when people were showing their hand with 2 pair, Dorothy would say something like "I only have four Kings."  I'm glad we only played for nickels and dimes because I always lost to Dorothy.

Aunt Dottie was always the kindest and most gracious person I know. Her and Uncle Chuck would always invite us over to do chores around the house so we could have some spending money.  I don't think we ever completed any chores, but we definitely got paid.  Also, you would never leave their house hungry.  After eating dinner at their house, they would order a few pizzas to just make sure you had plenty to eat, and after you ate the pizzas, they would bring out leftovers or make sandwiches.....You will be missed!!!  Love to all of the Oliver Family.....

So many great memories of Aunt Dottie. The bingo hall with her, Great Gran and Aunt Helen, playing cards and pool, time at the farm and of course the chicken tetrazzini! Thinking of you all, the Nordgrens

I have so many fun memories of weekends spent with my grandma, Britt, and Dotty! One of my favorites was when they took us to see CATS. :heart:
