Drew Ernest Ammons of Upper Arlington passed away on June 26, 2017, following a yearlong battle with colon cancer. He was a loving husband and the doting father of three daughters. Born in 1976 in Tennessee, Drew grew up in Denton, Texas, and Athens, Georgia. He graduated from Vanderbilt University and Emory University Medical School. He was on the Pediatric Cardiology faculty at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, before coming to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Drew loved his girls more than anything and spent hours pushing strollers and swings. He was the happiest at the park, the pool, and the beach playing with his family. He loved taking the girls to school. He was a wonderful husband and worked hard until the end to give us as much time and love as he could. He was an avid sports fan and had an encyclopedic knowledge of baseball. Drew is survived by his wife, May Ling, and daughters Claire, Norah, and Caroline. He also is survived by his parents, David and Cynthia Ammons; sister Alicia Mitchell, brother-in-law Jon Mitchell and nieces Elliott and Quinn; sister Paige Ramamurti, brother-in-law Bharat Ramamurti and nieces Neely and Merritt Drew. He will additionally be mourned by his in-laws, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is preceded in heaven by his nephew Miles and grandparents, including Ernest Ammons, for whom he was named and respected more than anyone. A memorial service will be conducted on June 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grandview, Ohio at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, persons wishing to donate to a memorial in Drew's honor may do so by donating online at: https://www.youcaring.com/millerparkandlibraryinupperarlington-861067?utm_source=frliveandutm_content=cf_cp_01. The funds will be used for a park bench in the girls' favorite nearby park, Miller Park, and improvements to the Children's Library there.
