

DAVIES Dwight Howard Davies, 92, of Columbus, died Monday, September 17, 2012. He was born January 4, 1920 in Fort Sill, OK to the late Clarence and Hazel (Davenport) Davies. He was a graduate of Mifflin High School and a 1943 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving as Captain in the Medical Corps. post WWII, stationed in Saipan. He was a family doctor in the Linden area for many years, worked at Riverside Methodist Hospital and retired from the Bureau of Workmen's Comp. He was a world traveler who was a voracious reader. He enjoyed working with stained glass and needlepoint, playing cards and listening to classical music. Dwight was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. He had many friends at Friendship Village of Columbus and many personal friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Joann (Roese) Davies and sister Jenny Booker. Survived by daughters, Diane (Herbert) Davis and Debourah Davies; grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis (Richard) Webb, William Dwight Davis, Jeffrey Robert Davis and Alyxzandra Roese Davies. Family will receive friends Saturday from 4 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
