Dwight Hunter Rowland age 86, a resident of Columbus, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at The Forum at Knightsbridge. He was born December 1, 1923 in Jackson, OH. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS New Jersey in the Asiatic/Pacific Arena. He retired after thirty one years of service as Supervisor of Transportation with Landmark. He was a member of the American Legion and liked to golf. He is preceded in death by his wife Magdalene in 2005, his parents and two brothers. He is survived by a sister Greta May, nieces Ramona and Marian, great niece Joy Lynn, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, special friends Frank (Donna) Golden, close friend Karen (Jim) Weaver and his pet cat Blackie. Family will receive friends Monday from 4-7 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 AM with entombment to follow in Kingwood Memorial Park Mausoleum.
