

Earl W. Webb, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2010. Earl was born on March 19, 1921 in Detroit, MI; he is the son of the late Earl Albert and Abbey Mary Webb. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara. Earl is a 1940 graduate of West High School; where he served as class president. He went on to attend The Ohio State University studying Industrial Engineering. Through his college Earl was called to serve his country in Europe during WWII. He proudly served and received 4 Battle Stars and a Bronze Star. After his service he returned to Ohio State to receive his Bachelor’s Degree, and was a life long Buckeye fan. Earl went on to work for Rockwell Industries. He was involved in the VFW, UA Senior Center and Opera Columbus; where he performed in 30 operas. Earl had an ear for classical and opera music; and enjoyed cruises and international travel with his wife, Norma. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Norma; children, Joyce (Dave) Reichle, Kathy (Lynn) Stuart, and Richard Earl (Laurie) Webb; grandchildren, Amy, Kim, Steven, Shelley, Heather and Molly; great grandchildren, Rayne, Quinton, Ayden, Lauren, Lindsay and Addison; along with 2 brother, John and Gene Webb. A Celebration of Earl’s Life will be on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11am at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, where family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Mike Peebles officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Union Cemetery.
