

Elizabeth "Betsey" Ann Hurley, age 54, of Columbus, Ohio, lost her valiant battle with cancer on Friday March 2, 2018. Born July 15, 1963 in Mansfield, Ohio, to Jerome and the late Mary Kathleen "Katie" Hurley, Betsey fought for her life for over 22 years before succumbing to her illness with her daughter by her side.
Betsey attended St. Peter's High School for a year and then graduated in 1981 from Malabar High School. She earned her associate of Secretarial Science from the University of Dayton, and worked as a legal secretary for Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease L.L.P for nearly 20 years.
Betsey was known as loving mother, grandmother, friend, sister and daughter. Her infectious laugh, and sense of humor were adored by everyone who knew her. She loved cats, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the color yellow, the television show Friends, and more than anything, her daughter and granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by, her mother; aunt, Rose Ann Dowd; uncles, Patrick McCullough, Harold Dowd and John Sirianno; grandparents, Edward and Winifred McCullough and William and Myra Hurley; and beloved cats, Rascal, Sampson, Bonnie and Charlie.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily Kaiser; granddaughter, Margot "Nuggy" Fronce; her father; aunt, Winifred Sirianno; siblings, Michael (Kimberly) Hurley, Peter (Kelley) Hurley, Christopher Hurley, Margaret "Meg" (Bruce) Sposet; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Friday March 16, 2017 from 4-8pm at the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio, 43221; where a Celebration of Life Service will also be held on Saturday March 17, 2018 at 10am.
