Elizabeth Lee Ohlinger

Elizabeth Lee (Crawford) Ohlinger, age 86, passed on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. She was born in Buffalo, W.Va., to the late James and Kathryn Crawford on Feb. 28, 1923. Elizabeth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy WAVES, was active in Columbus City Council, and was a dedicated advocate for impoverished children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Lloyd Ohlinger. She is survived by her children, Mimi Ohlinger (Frankie Lawhorn), Lloyd “Dempsey” (Karen Ross) Ohlinger, Teresa (Michael) Deep, and Marcia (Parker) Little; grandchildren, Parker Lloyd Little Jr., Erica Nicole (Paul) Lopp, Maria Elizabeth Seward, and Lauren Elizabeth Armitage; and great grandchildren, Quintyn Little, Jerika Seward, and Alphonso Seward. Family will receive friends from 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at SCHOEDINGER STATE STREET CHAPEL, 229 E. State St. A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
