Elizabeth “Betty” Patel (nee Penn), 84, born in Columbus, OH and long-time resident of Mt Vernon, New York; beloved wife of Dr. Sharad A. Patel ; devoted mother of Anand Paul ( Chek Beng Ng) Patel of Selkirk, N.Y., Mark (Christine) Patel of Cincinnati and Mary Pratima Patel Sampler of Troy, N.Y.; sister-in-law of Sharlene Penn of Columbus, OH; grandmother of Tyrone Emanuel Patel, Serena Maya Sampler and Sean Kailas Sampler; dearly loved by a host of other relatives and friends. Departed June 4, 2012. Visitation will be Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave.; funeral services will immediately follow at 12 noon.
