

Ellen Rose Davis, age 86, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at The New Lincoln Lodge Retirement Residence. Ellen was born in Columbus on April 5, 1926, to the late Ray and Mary Clark. She was a 1944 graduate of West High School, and she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses, including the Hilltop Press, Ray’s Catering, and Johnson’s Catering, before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church, West High Alumni, and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, and she loved decorating for the holidays. She treasured the opportunity to travel to Disney World in Florida, as well as to her family’s island in Canada. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Davis; and her sister, Dorothy Agee. She is survived by her children, Bruce (Beth) Rose, Jeff Davis, Mike (Jenny) Davis, and Bob Davis; grandchildren, Doug, Jordan, Kayla, Evan, Landon, Noah, and Emily; great grandchildren, Hailee, Madison, and Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and many friends, including lifelong friend Johnny Steiner, who always looked after her at Lincoln Lodge. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., where family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. Private inurnment at Sunset Cemetery at a later date.
