Elmer Plasencia was born in Trujillo, Peru, to Alcidia Salazar Chavez de Plasencia and Ermetrio Nicolas Plasencia Leon. He was one of six siblings—Melva, Pepe, Nicolas, Haydee, and Carlos—with whom he shared a vibrant childhood full of love and laughter. He later made his home in Mar de Ajó, Argentina, before eventually settling in Columbus, Ohio, where he built a life filled with family, friendship, and joy.
Elmer is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Jessica; his devoted son, Elmer, who was the light of his life; his daughter-in-law, Anna; and his cherished granddaughter, Eliza, whose presence brought him endless happiness and pride.
Elmer was a man who found joy in the simple things—spending time with family, watching soccer, and enjoying his favorite Peruvian dishes. He had an infectious smile and a generous spirit. Whether you met him once or knew him for a lifetime, Elmer had a way of making you feel seen, heard, and happier than before.
For the past 25 years, Elmer worked at Tim Hortons, where he became a familiar and comforting presence to many. He had a gift for brightening the days of those around him with his humor, kindness, and genuine warmth.
Elmer was more than a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend—he was a source of light and laughter for everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories we share, the joy he brought, and the love he gave so freely.
Please join us in honoring his life at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST on Friday, July 25th. The service will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by visitation from 4:30 to 6:00 PM.
