

Elsie Thompson, age 83 of Pickerington, went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2015. Elsie was born to Fred and Mary Baker in Schenectady, New York on December 2, 1931. Elsie was known for many things, including her love of garage sales, thrift stores, gin rummy, and a good comeback. She lived her life by giving to others, especially by crocheting thousands of afghan blankets for others over the years, often seeking out complete strangers in need. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Elsie is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ernest C. Tidball; second husband, Wallace Thompson; her brother, Harry St. Pearre and her sisters, Ida Tidball and Betty Smith. She is survived by her sister, Pat Mitchell. She was a beloved and loving mother to children Ernest (Rose) Tidball, Ken (Deborah) Tidball, Carl (Lori) Tidball, Donald Tidball, David (Rose) Thompson, Debbie (John) Frederich, and Cheryl (Bill) Geng; step-children, Rick Thompson, Laura Thompson, and Roger Thompson, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43232. Funeral service will be held 10 am Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 4701 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
