Eric D Biel

Eric D. Biel (Hall), age 23 of New Albany, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016. Eric was born in Columbus, son of Louis Biel and Mary and Robert Hall. He attended both Gahanna Schools and Step by Step Academy and was an active member of Quest Community Church, Westerville. Eric's life may not have been as long as some, but his life was fuller than most. He was an inspiration to many and was a participant in advocacy to expand Ohio community based care. He enjoyed the ocean, swimming, live music, eating out, movies and video games, trips to our camp "the brown house," and traveling, particularly to Disney World, where he made countless trips and was referred to as the world's foremost Disney authority. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Biel; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Adolph L. Biel and Dan and Cleo Mooney of Charleston, West Virginia; great grandparents, Henry and Cecelia Smith; uncle, Henry Smith; and cousin who greeted him at Heaven's Gate; and nurse of many years, Joyce Stollar. He will be greatly missed by his parents, Louis Biel and Mary and Robert Hall; brother, Mandale Satterfield; step-siblings, Autumn, Courtney, Sarah, and Robert Hall Jr.; Aunts, Mary Rogers and Dolores Goette; cousins, Jane Marks, Sarah Prochoska, Andrew and Patrick Clark; primary caregiver for 23 years, Patty Bennett; and many other extended family members, dear friends, pastors, physicians and caregivers. Special thanks to Dr. Gary Noritz of Nationwide Children's Hospital for his great mission to Eric and children like him. We also want to thank the Palliative Care and PICU teams of NCH for excellent support and compassion. Eric's family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 and 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Quest Community Church, 4877 Central College Rd., Westerville where Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
