I grew up with Eric and loved him like a brother. We spent many hours of our childhood outdoors playing sports together when we weren't in class. So long amigo.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Eric coached me when I was in my early teens on the Euclid Summer Swim Team. I still carry with me today lessons I learned in the short time he was my coach most of all, what is worth it in life won't come easily.

I had the privilege of praying for Eric at Life Vineyard church.  Although I didn't know him, I always lifted him in prayer every time I saw him.  I was always struck with how brave and faithful he and his wife were...week after week praying for healing, enduring surgeries, answering the same questions from people, etc.  Their lives are a testimony in ways they will never know.  

I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing today and see the grief of those that knew him well.  But there was comfort knowing that Eric is with The Lord and he has been set free from this affliction.  As we celebrate this Easter here on Earth, my brother Eric is celebrating with Jesus.  In that, we rejoice...

Eric was a wonderful big brother not just to Kirsten but to the Feran kids too.
I'll never forget one particular post-visit phone call I received from Eric, asking me if I had left something at his house.
 I had.
 I had left my youngest child, Caroline, a newborn, sound asleep in her car seat, there.
 My only excuse is that I was terribly sleep-deprived and hadn't yet adjusted to the fact that I now had 4 small heads (instead of 3) to account for when venturing out. 
I don't know if Eric was more amused or alarmed at my flunking motherhood that day. 
Regardless, I will be forever grateful for Eric's unfailing attentiveness toward, and gentleness with, my kids. 
He was a wonderful, wonderful guy.
The world is a much lesser place without him.
