Eric Jay Monroe

He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on March 1, 1962, to Monte and Marilyn JoAnne (Wade) Monroe. Eric loved to collect Hot Wheels and trucks; he also enjoyed putting together model cars. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, swimming, reading Readers Digest, and had a love for cats.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hobart, Sr. and Marie Wade; paternal grandparents Denver and Mary Monroe; uncles Harvey Monroe, Hobart Wade Jr., John Cottrill, Albert Miller and Leo Wade; aunts Roberta Cottrill, Maxine Miller, and Phyllis Wade.

Eric is survived by his parents, Monte and Marilyn JoAnne Monroe of Heath; sisters Tracie Monroe of Clinton Township, Michigan; Stephanie (Larry Jr) Boyd of Heath; and brother Kirk Monroe of Newark. Also surviving him are his nephews David (Melissa) Semons and Trevor Awe; niece Samantha Boyd; great nieces and nephew Samantha, Elizabeth, and Tarik, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric is also survived by his second family, the staff and caregivers of RES Care of Columbus.

Services will be held on Thursday December 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark with Andrew Hoover as Celebrant. Friends may call from 11 am – 1 pm on the day of service or go to www.CrissSchoedinger.com to sign an online guestbook.
