Evelyn Reed

Evelyn Lena Reed passed away at her residence surrounded by her family in Galloway, Ohio May 26th 2014 at the age of 72. Evelyn Lena Reed was born on February 17th 1942, she was the youngest child born from the union of I.V. Knox and Josephine Knox of Anniston, Alabama.

Evelyn confessed to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Rocky Mountain Baptist Church in her youth. Evelyn was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Evelyn was a strong woman she loved and cared for her family. She raised her three daughters to be strong independent women with great morals and character; she taught her daughters right from wrong and instilled in them that God and family is everything and is all that you have in this world.

Evelyn retired from The Big Lots Corporation in 2009 where she was employed for 15 years. Evelyn was very funny she had a personality like no other; she would either make you laugh or make you cry. The family always told her that she should have been a comedian. We will miss her smile her laughter her sternness and most of all her love for her family. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved parents I.V. Knox and Josephine Knox, three Brothers, Ollie B. Knox, William Arthur Knox and James V. Knox. Sister Zenobia Knox, Grandson Shawn Michael Skinner.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters Lynda Patrice Chatman (Charles Chatman) Sherry Elena Watts both of Los Angeles, CA. Tiffany Michele Borders of Columbus, Ohio. Her beloved Sister Mrs. Cameria Bell of Columbus, Ohio, Her beloved Brother Mr. Harvell Knox of Chicago, Illinois,8 grandchildren Branden D. Chatman, Dakara Williams, Tyara Chatman, Christian Smith, Brittany Muncy, Korie Reed, Jaidan Lowery. 15 great grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. Evelyn Lena Reed will surely be missed.

Memorial Service will be held at Holy Temple Church of God 1072 East 14th Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43211. Pastor Wesley L. Sellers.
