Everett O. Jones

Everett Otto Jones II, age 63, born February 5, 1953, died May 20, 2016.

Everett grew up in Warren, Michigan and graduated from Cousino High School in 1971. He received a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree from Capital University majoring in History Education in June of 1975. Everett started his retail career in the men's suit department of F and R Lazarus. He quickly entered the management training program and became a buyer for ladies shoes and handbags. Everett then worked for Joyce-Selby Shoes as a buyer and managed seven stores in Ohio. Everett was hired by Huntington Banks where he worked for 23 years. He started as a branch manager and was promoted to District Manager. He was the first retail banker to be named a Senior Vice-President. Everett was an active volunteer in the Upper Arlington Civic Association and a coach for Northwest Kiwanis soccer program. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and was a past Deacon. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Betty Jones; his sister, Kathleen and beloved son Zachary. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie; two brothers, Leslie (Jean) and Richard (Deb) Jones; sons, Timothy (Christy) and Nathaniel Jones; his three grandchildren, Kacey, Kaley and Kolby; 3 nieces and 5 nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Monday, May 23, 2016 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Road, where A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 pm Monday with Rev. Katie Kinnison officiating. Family will also welcome friends at a reception immediately following the service at the church.
