Francis "Frank" Pontones

Francis “Frank” T. Pontones, age 73, of Grove City, OH passed away Wednesday July 13, 2011. He was born to the late Jesus and Maria Pontones, in Malvern, OH, August 12, 1937. He served in the Marines 2nd Division as a helicopter mechanic. He met the love of his life Martha while on leave in Georgia and they were married April 9, 1957. They raised their five children together in Grove City, OH. Frank enjoyed his garage, tools, and helping other people. He was an avid handyman and hard worker. He loved to relax and watch old westerns. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He will dearly be missed. He is preceded in death by his son, William T. Pontones; parents, Jesus and Maria Pontones; brothers, George, Jesus, and Raymond Pontones; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Hugh Bowen; brother-in-laws, Billy Bowen and Lamar “Peanut” Bowen. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Pontones; children, Elizabeth (Joel) Pontones Pierce, John Anthony (Kathy) Pontones, Victoria (Chris) Arnold, Wendy (Brent) Meese; brothers and sisters, Joe (Irene) Pontones, Mary (Bill) Eakins, Art (Barb) Pontones, Delores (Joel) Deckman, Elias (Connie) Pontones, Jackie (Carol) Pontones, Annie (George) Kast, Violet Wright, and Blanche Reinart; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda (Carter) Jacoby, Patsy (Johnny) Vinyard, and Jimmy Bowen; grandchildren, Melissa (Scott) Little, Michael Meese, Curtis Pontones, and Dillon Arnold; great grandchildren, Austin and Aaden Little. Friends may call Monday, July 18, 2011 2-4p and 6-8p at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway Grove City where the funeral service will be held 10am Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
