Frank Thomas Starkey

Tom was born July 27, 1938 and passed on November 18, 2021. Tom was preceded in death by parents; Thomas and Irene Starkey, sister, Sally Ann Warner, and son-in-law, John Mawhirter. Tom is survived by wife Betty, sister Nancy (John) Stinson, daughters; Dianne Mawhirter, Karen (Rob) Rissmeyer, Jennifer (John) Falk, stepson Brian (Suzie) Willison, grandchildren; David (Jennifer) Mawhirter, Nathan Mawhirter, Aaron Mawhirter, Tara Rissmeyer, Ashleigh (Ryan) Kahle, Dakota Falk, and Caleb Falk, step-grandchildren; Tommy (Michelle) Willison, Jimmy (Megan) Willison, Mallory (Charles) Hammond, Delanee (Chris) Bailey and many wonderful great- grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Tom has been directing German choruses in the Columbus area since 1971 - The Harmony Glee Club Arbeiter Maennerchor and Frauenchor, The Sachsenchor, and the Newark Maennerchor. He held a Bachelor of Science in Education - Music Supervision from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

Tom retired from the Columbus Public Schools after 30 years of service. During this time, he taught General/Vocal music in Junior High /Middle schools.

During this time, Tom was also involved with church music. He was the Senior choir director of three different Lutheran churches.

Tom will be sadly missed by many friends in the world of music, and by his previous wife and friend, Suzanne Martin. Viewing will be 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday November 23rd, celebration of a life well lived service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 24th at the Schoedinger Funeral Home, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH, 43232
