Frederick William Alan Kilburn

Frederick William Alan Kilburn, age 85, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 6, 2013. He was born October 12, 1927 in Kilburn New Brunswick, Canada to the late Frederick and Madge (née Lovell) Kilburn. He was a member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church and a retired Columbus Police officer. Fred was a master leather craftsman and enjoyed traveling, going to flee markets, and metal detecting. He also wrote many articles for popular leather magazines. He was a member of the F.O.P. and the Central Indiana Leathercrafters Guild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Kilburn. Fred is survived by his son, Mike Kilburn; companion, Dora Dell "Dee" McKean; and many dear friends. Visitation will be held 4-8 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio. Funeral service will be 10:30 am Thursday at Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, 775 Galloway Rd., Galloway, Ohio 43119 with Rev. Gail Sims officiating.
