

Frieda M. Durban, 94- born Frieda Marie Blau in Camp Chase (Columbus), Ohio, on 2/10/18- passed at 2:29 AM, Saturday, April 28, 2012, due to heart failure. Reared in the West Columbus area, she graduated West High School in 1936 where she was football homecoming queen. She has most recently resided at Mill Run Care Center, Hilliard, where she participated in many activities and received excellent care. She had resided at the home she and husband Ellis built in 1966 in Galloway, OH. She is survived by her children: John (Loretta) of Powell, OH; George (Linda) of Indianola, IA; Mary Kathleen (Jerry) Woodard of Circleville, OH; Deanna Sharp of New Port Richey, FL; Lee (Marta) Durban of Galloway, OH; Phillip Durban of Franklin, TN and by brother Robert Blau of Columbus (New Rome), OH and sister Bonnie Donaldson of Orient, OH; 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Ellis Durban (1985), son Robert Earl Durban (2007) and sister Pauline (Walter) Parker (2008) of Hilliard. She will be remembered for her love of (all) children, her deep devotion to her God and her quiet but consistent determination for causes important to her. She particularly enjoyed attending plays and other activities involving family members. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-New Rome where she taught Sunday School for many years. She earned a Real Estate Sales License while in her 50's and was a longtime member of the Northwest Franklin Historical Society. The family will receive friends at Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W. Broad St, Columbus, Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 55 Pasadena Ave, Columbus (New Rome), with Pastor Bill McKee and Pastor Larry Baker officiating.
