Garnet Muriel Morgan

Garnet M. Morgan, age 78 of Columbus, OH went home to be with The Lord Sunday, May 20, 2018. Garnet was born in Fredericktown, PA. and graduated from high school in Pineville, WV. She retired after 23 years of dedicated service as an executive secretary with the Columbus Dispatch. She was a member of the Church Next Door. Garnet enjoyed gardening, cooking, and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Ken Mayfield, who was killed in World War II; mother, Lorraine McCarty Chambers; stepfather, Buford Chambers, Sr.; sister, Linda Chambers; and maternal grandparents, Harry and Harriett McCarty. Garnet is survived by her son Bret Morgan; grandson Jacob Holcomb; her brother Buford Chambers, Jr.; aunt Dolly Holmes; and many dear nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 10-11 AM Thursday at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel 3920 Broadway, where the funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday. Rev. Robert Day officiating.
