Andy graduated from Bexley High School in 1959. He served in the United States Army and the Ohio National Guard. Andy was a lifelong employee at The Superior Die Tool and Machine Company, where he became Secretary Treasurer in 1965.
He was a Tri-State Champion of fast pitch softball and was an excellent drag racer. Andy was a member of the Columbus Country Club, Huron Yacht Club and numerous other clubs. He enjoyed many wonderful friends in Huron, Ohio; fishing at Lake Erie and The Keys; and hunting with his son and friends. Andy and his brother, Dick, were instrumental in helping rebuild Islamorda after their most recent hurricane. He also spent a lot of time at his cabins in Canada and in Indian River, Michigan with family and friends. Andy was an avid golfer and Ohio State Buckeye football fan.
Andy is survived by his daughter, Heidi Holstein; son, Tom (Amy) Holstein; brother, Richard “Dick” (Judy) Holstein; and his beloved dogs, Hank and Olaf. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his beautiful, loving wife of 53 years, Sue Holstein; and his brother, Roger Holstein.
A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Celebrations of Life will be held and announced at later dates.
