Gary L. Schweb

Gary L. Schweb, born August 28, 1940 in Davenport, Iowa, passed away at home on September 9, 2015, after an extended illness. Loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Vivian; children, Matt (Lisa) and son Devon, Kristin (Paul) Ruiz and sons Jake and Joey, Tami Jones, Jennifer (Heath) Cook and children Adam and Paige; and sister, Susan Schweb. Preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen Schweb of Davenport. Gary graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa where he was a member of Phi Sig fraternity. His marketing career included the Maytag Company, Jenn Air Company, and Choice Brands where he was Regional Sales Manager. He was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church, and served as a youth volunteer for Maize Manor Methodist Church. Besides spending time with family and friends, he loved camping, fishing, photography and cooking. His passion and support for St. Jude's Hospital will live on forever. Gary's family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday, September 13 at the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, Worthington. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 4pm with Reverend Cyndy Garn officiating. The family wishes to thank OhioHealth Hospice and Senior Matters caregivers who focused on his comfort during his final days.
