Gary Eugene "Scotty" Scott

Gary passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side on Thursday, July 15, 2010

Gary was born in McConnellsville, Ohio on January 31, 1933 to the late Selby and Alta (Murphy) Scott. At an early age Gary and his family moved to Newark where he grew up and then later entered into the United States Air Force and proudly served his country from 1952 to 1956. In 1950 he met the love of his life Miss Maxine L. Hall and was married on January 2, 1954. They spent over 56 wonderful years together. Gary retired from Owens Corning in 1990 after 40 dedicated years. Gary enjoyed his family and taking vacations to Myrtle Beach and Florida with them as they were growing up. He enjoyed fishing, but what put a smile on his face was his grandchildren. Gary was quite the family man and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his wife Maxine, survivors include his children; Donald Scott, Nancy (Frank) Gostrue , Gary “Dink” Scott, Trina (Tom) Annarino, Teresa (Randy) Fraunfelter, and Lori (Scott) Shepherd all of Newark; Grandfather of 18, Great grandfather of 22, and great great grandfather of 1.

Along with his parents Gary is preceded in death by his brother Ronald Scott, sister Dolores McGlaughlin, and one great granddaughter. Family and friends are welcome to attend the Graveside services on Monday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home 179 Granville St., Newark, Ohio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
