Dear Buzzelli Family, especially Ellen and Johnny,  I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I could have been there to comfort you and show my respects but because of COVID concerns I couldn’t. Geno was a great person always with a smile on his face. He was always so helpful and a wonderful leader when I was at Reitter Stucco. We were really family while I was there and the memories of him are always happy ones. May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Him :pray::skin-tone-2:

I have known and respected Geno all my life. Buzz was his nickname but I always thought of him as a Bull due to his strength and ability. When we bought Geno's house on Fox Hollow, Geno left us the Grotto he built in the back yard with the Statue of the Virgin Mary.We promised that we would take good care of her. When we moved we moved the Grotto and Mary to a prominent spot in the yard at our present home.
As we look out at her every day we are forever reminded of Geno.

Ellen we are sorry that we couldn't attend the funeral but please accept our

I will always remember Buzz like an uncle to our family.  He was such a good friend of my father and grandfather, and a mentor to all my brothers. I will miss going out to breakfast and visiting.  Buzz had lots of stories to share, which gave me such insight on my father's and grandfather's life even more.  He was such a craftsman, talented carpenter, and his knowledge of stucco and building went way beyond.  He marks the end of an era of the original crew.  Now he can shoot the stuff with Bruno, Santo, my dad, Dick, and my grandfather, Gabe.  He will truly be missed.

Geno "Buzz" Buzzelli grew up next door to my Grandparent's house and he and his family became lifelong friends of our family.  As my siblings and I were growing up, his mother Concetti used to babysit us.  She would religiously watch the Lawrence Welk show while us boys would terrorize each other. We used to have a lot of fun when she was glued to that TV show, lol.

Geno ended up working full time with my father at Reitter Stucco where they both had worked since they were teens. Geno was trained by the masters that worked for my Grandfather and Great Grandfather who were highly skilled in the trade and who demanded nothing but hard work and excellence. He worked at Reitter Stucco in various capacities in the field for well over 50 years!  He continued working for many years after that in the capacity of a service subcontractor and/or a stucco "consultant" when we needed his expertise to tackle a repair or unique project.  His training and 50 years of experience gained him unprecedented working knowledge of stucco and his proficiency in the trade was truly evident in his work. He was a master of finishes, colors, and stucco repairs and together with some of the other foundation pillars of Reitter's success, namely Nick Figliola, Santo Merullo, and  Bruno Quaranto, he helped build Reitter's reputation for quality.  Bruno Quaranto told me numerous times that Geno served as his mentor when it came to the true art of stucco.  Geno's son Johnny, who has followed in his footsteps and has also gained an abundance of stucco knowledge, will be the first to tell you that his Father's shoes are impossible to fill.  Geno has moved on but his legacy at Reitter will always endure.
