

George A. “Art” Cotton, age 74, of Circleville passed away suddenly on Monday, November 28, 2011 and went to his Heavenly home. Art was born on August 17, 1937 to the late David S. and Edith C. Cotton. He was also preceded in death by brother, Raymond E. Cotton; and step-mother, Mary Rife. Art is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Sally (Leist) Cotton; children, Lisa (James) Conrad of Stoutsville, Caroline (Greg) Hargus of Lancaster and Gerald (Danyette) Cotton of Amanda. Art was also the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren, Andy B., Andy C., Andy H., Brandy, Christopher, Christopher M., Curtis, James, Leah, K’lee and Patricia and their spouses; and 10 great grandchildren, Autumn, Bradley, Cole, Colton, D.J., Jason, Michael, Nickalus, Wesley and Zoe. He is also survived by brother, Robert (Linda) Cotton of Circleville and Charles (Karen) Cotton of Newark; along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Art retired from the City of Circleville after 33 years of dedicated service in the Waste Treatment Plant. He attended New Hope Church in Lancaster with wife, Sally. Art was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed OSU football. He could be found in the serenity of his home in his recliner watching one of his many favorite TV shows. Art will be remembered for his determination and his love he had for his family. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 5-8pm at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main Street, Circleville, OH 43113, where funeral services will be on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 1pm, where family will receive friends one hour prior; Pastor John Dawson officiating. Interment to follow at Hitler Ludwig Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being set up at Savings Bank in Art’s name.
