George R. Jones

George R. Jones, age 92, of Columbus, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, surrounded by family. He was born to the late Arthur and Bess Jones on October 26, 1922. George was a graduate of West High School and received his B.A. in Business from The Ohio State University. A proud WWII Navy veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre. George was a Chief Financial Officer for over 35 years, working with companies such as; Able Corporation, Klingbeil Company, and Madison’s Inc. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and The Ohio State University Alumni Association. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son and brother who will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Edwin Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna (Roth); son, Jeffrey (Natalee) Jones; daughter, Lisbeth Hindman; son, Donald (Susan) Jones; grandchildren, Danielle Patterson, Andy Hindman, Todd Patterson, Richard (Stephanie) Hindman, and Kelsey Jones; great-grandchild, Laney Hindman; extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON, CHAPEL, 6699 N High St., Worthington, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
