George A. Price

George A. Price, age 94 of Upper Arlington, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018. George was born on June 6, 1924 in Malta, Ohio, son of the late Ernest and Edith (Carr) Price. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marie Price and son, David Price.

From 1942-1945, George served in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. While stationed in Hawaii, he and 3 others service members established the Church of Christ in Honolulu, which still exists today. He was very proud of his service. Following his time in the military, George married his wife Marie on October 2, 1946. The two of them went on to start their family and share in 65 years of marriage. George worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio for 38 years. He was a member of the Fishinger and Kenny Church of Christ for 55 years and an elder there for 33 years. George enjoyed gardening, loved sports and was an avid OSU Buckeyes fan. Most importantly, George loved being a grandpa, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching many of their sports, games, and activities.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Judy (Rick) Bunting of Columbus and Sandy (Bill) Hopkins of Findlay; grandchildren, Chris (Cassie) Price of Waco, TX, Tiffany (Bryan) Parker of North Olmsted, Brian Bunting of Hilliard, Philip Bunting of Berkeley, CA, Kyle Hopkins of Columbus, Justin Hopkins of Columbus and Geoff Price; 5 great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Fishinger and Kenny Church of Christ, 1130 Fishinger Road, where family will receive friends from 11 AM until time of service. Private family entombment.
