Rev. Dr. George T. Zoebl

Rev. Dr. George T. Zoebl, age 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 23, 2024 after a brief illness. George was born on August 31, 1949 in Oak Park, IL to the late George T. and Marion (Rothschild) Zoebl. He was a graduate of Walther Luther High School in Melrose Park, IL and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. George was a proud son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and shepherd to his sheep having served congregations in Montgomery, AL, Ashland, KY, and Columbus, OH. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Geoffrey Zoebl and brother-in-law, Dennis Scheck. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Veronika (Rohde) Zoebl; son, Nathan (Chloe) Zoebl; daughter, Natalie (Chad) Waits; grandchildren, Zoey and Jaxon Rarey, Oliver Zoebl, Audrey and Leo Waits; sister, Gretchen Scheck; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 9-11 am Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1000 Noe Bixby Rd. Columbus, OH 43213, where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger East. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
