Gerald Beckman, 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on February 15, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Arthur and Eleanor (Waszak) Beckman. He was the oldest of two sons.
Gerry was married to Hilda Liegl on April 11, 1964, in Wisconsin and had four children. Gerry’s career took them to various places. They called Wisconsin, Georgia, Connecticut, Texas, and Ohio home through the years. Gerry was a strong, confident soul, keeping his family close and making many good friends along the way.
He treasured spending time with his family and friends. In his early adult life, he had a passion for working on and racing cars. That passion turned him into a great handyman, always willing to try to fix things whether it be cars, the boat or items around the house. He also loved woodworking, racing RC cars and boating. In his later years you would find him sitting quieting with the love of his life, sipping coffee and watching the world go by.
Left to cherish Gerry’s memory are daughters, Susan Walchshauser, of Ponder, Texas and Pam (John) Linse, of Hilliard, Ohio; son, Scott (Janet) Beckman, of Dublin, Ohio; grandchildren, Brian, Will, Katie, Chloe, and Harper; brother, Richard Beckman (Karen); many nieces and nephews. Gerry is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda; son, Kurt Beckman; and parents, Arthur (WWII-KIA) and Eleanor Beckman.
Services will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Alalbert Cemetery, 3801 South 6th St., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Entombment will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gerry's name to your local humane society or Ohio's Hospice Loving Care, 779 London Ave, Marysville, OH 43040.
