AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Glenn Ray Pirtle

13 janvier 1937 – 30 novembre 2025
Avis de décès de Glenn Ray Pirtle
AUX SOINS DE

Schoedinger Northwest

Glenn Ray Pirtle passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on the morning of November 30th, 2025. Glenn was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.

The oldest of five children, Glenn was born on January 13, 1937 in Beaverdam, Kentucky to Ivan Pirtle and Bertha Evans. He grew up in Arlington, Ohio and later Pioneer, Ohio where he met and married his wife of 68 years, Janice Ann (Nearing) Pirtle. Glenn earned a bachelor's degree in vocational agriculture as well as a master’s in business administration, both from The Ohio State University. Glenn enjoyed a successful career at the Ohio Farm Bureau. He and Janice raised their two children, Julie Anne and Timothy Alan, in Worthington, Ohio. More recently, Glenn and Janice split their time between their homes in Upper Arlington, Candlewood Lake- both in Ohio, and in Hutchinson Island, Florida.

Glenn is survived by his devoted wife, Janice; his children: Julie Spafford and Timothy Pirtle; his 4 grandchildren: Jennifer (Caleb) Pape, Lara (Devin) Gottfried, Glenn (Katie) Spafford, and Andrew (Kelli) Pirtle; his 11 great grandchildren: Joshua, Ethan, Kayden, Bianca, Daxton, Laina, Lila, Levi, Walter, Simeon, and Janice; and his 4 younger siblings: Sandra Waechter, Kenneth (Kathleen) Pirtle, Gary (Laura) Pirtle, and Eric (Cindy) Pirtle.

Glenn will be remembered for his larger than life personality and the countless ways he bettered the lives of others. He was a loyal friend, the most welcoming host, and a fiercely hard worker. Above all, he loved and cared for his family in a way that can never be replaced. Glenn especially loved being a grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of a funeral, the family will be hosting a celebration of life in the spring, with details to come. In true Glenn and Janice fashion, please expect a party!
