

She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard Lee Rudy and her parents Walter and Vera Cochran. She will be missed by children, Richard L. Rudy Jr. (Circleville), Carol (Dennis) Johnson (Miami Fla.), Barbara (Gary –daughters Ashlee & Mandy) Orr (Hilliard), Lynn (Jeff) Kuehn (Upper Arlington), and James (Deborah) Rudy (Westerville); grandchildren Allison, Laura, and Tommy Kuehn, Katherine Rudy, Alyssa Hurt; brother Robert Cochran, and many nieces & nephews.
Jean was born August 29, 1924 in West Lafayette Ohio and graduated from Dover High School (1942) and Cadet Nurses Training at White Cross Hospital (1945). She spent her nursing career working at the OSU Student Health Center, and in a private OBGYN practice. Jean was a strong, spiritual, independent woman who was viewed as a role model by many. She was a loving mother who was devoted to her family and considered as a faithful friend. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, participated in many sports (golf, swimming, walking), and was an avid reader. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church serving on many committees, was a Stephen Minister and dedicated much of her time to serving others though volunteering at Trinity for the Food Pantry, Clothing Room, YWCA Family Assistance/homeless program, Mexico & Haiti Mission Trips and volunteering at hospice Kobacker House.
Friends may call Friday February 3, 2012 from 5-8 pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus Ohio 43221. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p. m. Saturday February 4, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd, where family will receive friends immediately following the service, Rev. Philip Brooks officiating. Private interment Sunset Cemetery.
