

Gordon Hopkins Moore, age 95, of Friendship Village of Dublin, Dublin, OH, died Thursday, November 3, 2011. He was the son of Lurn Moore and Bessie Hopkins Moore. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years of marriage, Jane Keifer Moore; son, Richard H. Moore; grandchildren, Jonathan T. Moore, Jennifer (Moore) Cunning, Matthew H. Moore, Robin (Moore) Bautista-Jimenez, Trevor G. Moore; and great grandchildren, Tommy, Kate, and Ruth Moore and Jimmy Cunning; nephew, Rodger Moore and niece Eleanor Richter. He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas G. Moore and brother, Leland Moore. A graduate of Warren Business School, he was a member of Northwest Christian Church of Upper Arlington and former elder of Second Christian Church of Warren, Ohio and Northwood Christian Church in Indianapolis. He was the official delegate to many national assemblies of The Christian Church as well as being a member of the Development Council of the National Evangelistic Association. He worked for the Packard Electric Division of General Motors as Director for Financial Accounting for 40 years before retiring in 1975. In 1972 Moore Field, a little league field, was named in his honor for his many years of service as treasurer and trustee for the Howland Athletic Club. He was an avid tennis player, bowler, swimmer and golfer and enjoyed travelling around the world with his wife during their retirement. He was former treasurer and past president of the Howland Rotary Club; member of Zionsville Rotary Club; president of the National Association of Accountants (Youngstown Chapter); past president Ohio State Council of Landscape Design Critics; Co-chairman of the Trumbull Art Guild; chair of the budget committee and vice-president of Robin Run Council at Robin Run Retirement Community in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a Son of the American Revolution and descendant of Richard Warren and Fracis Cook passengers on the Mayflower. There will be a memorial service in his honor at Friendship Village of Dublin in early December.
