Hanson Walter Bickel

Hanson Walter "Walt" Bickel Jr., 85, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed to eternal peace after a long battle with Covid and other related illnesses. Walt was born and raised in West Virginia to Hanson Walter and Cosby Lee Bickel. Walt served our country for a number of years after enlisting in the United States National Guard.

Walt spent 64 wonderful years married to his loving wife, Shirley Ann Bickel, who preceded him in death.

Walt is survived by his daughter, Brenda Lee Bickel-Wilson and her companion William Clark; his grandson, Michael Ryan (Alexandra Danaѐ) Wilson; his beloved companion, Carol Myers; special friends and caretakers Brad and Shelly Gust and Theodora Moore; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Walt retired from Ebco/Oasis Manufacturing. He was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Gahanna, where he and Shirley attended regularly. He was known for his active lifestyle, and enjoyed gardening, fishing for catfish, boating, and traveling. He will also be remembered for spending time outdoors and being able to fix just about anything.

Services have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME. A private service will be held for the family, with Pastor Wally Contreras of First Baptist Church of Gahanna officiating. There will be a virtual "Zoom" visitation prior to and including the service. Those interested in joining please reach out to the Schoedinger Northeast for information.
