

Harriet F. “Hodge” (James) Wallace, 78, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012. She was born July 3, 1933 in Columbus and was a 1951 graduate of North High School. After her marriage to William Wallace, they lived in Wooster, where Hodge worked at Rubbermaid and the YMCA until they returned to Columbus in 1976. Hodge retired from Columbia Gas in 1997 after 20 years. She was a member of the Three Star Club, enjoyed playing golf on the Wii, and was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. Her family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Mt. Carmel Hospice for the care given to Hodge. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth James; brother, Edward “Buzz” James; and sister, Maralyn Finnerty. Hodge will be missed by her husband of 52 years, William J. Wallace, Sr.; sons, Matthew (Ruth) Wallace and William, Jr. (Debbie) Wallace; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis (Harold) Crabtree, Joan Anderson, Virginia Botley, and Vivian Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5-8pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where the Celebration of Hodge’s Life will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Pastor Steve Hopkins officiating.
