

Hazel M. Ginther, 92, wife of the late Robert F. Ginther, Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at home. Born December 18, 1931, in Middleport, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Hawkins. Hazel graduated from Middleport High School and upon graduation, married her high school sweetheart, Bob Ginther. She worked with the Ohio Fuel and Gas while her husband completed his music degree at The Ohio State University. While he was the Band Director at Upper Arlington High School, Hazel was the majorette trainer and also taught dance at Marjorie Jones Dance Studio. Hazel was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, singing in the church choir and was a Deacon and an Elder. Hazel began her banking career with City National/Bank One in 1970 retiring in 2001. She was selected for Bank One’s first Hall of Fame. She is survived by son Gary of Upper Arlington; one granddaughter Heather of Columbus, Ohio and one great-granddaughter Ava of Parkersburg, West Virginia. She is also survived by her sister Juanita Walker of Greenwood, Indiana and two nieces. In addition to her husband, she is preceded by her daughter, Vicki. Family will receive friends from 2-5 P.M. Sunday, October 6, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
