

Helen B. Long entered this world on February 22, 1932. She was born in Columbus, GA to the late Della Mae Crawford and Jacob Ford. She moved with her mother and sister to Columbus, OH at a young age. She graduated in 1950 from East High School. February 2, 1952 Helen and Wilbur F. Long were wed in Holy Matrimony. The marriage of 62 years produced 3 daughters and 1 son and then 2 granddaughters and a great grandson. She worked at Traveler's Insurance and R.G. Barry and ended her working career and returned home in time to be a devoted and loving grandmother to her 2 granddaughters. She was recently blessed to see and hold her first great grandson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by siblings Seaborn Jenkins, Evelyn Booth and Sonny Ford and daughter Nancy L. Mason. Helen leaves to cherish and honor her memory her devoted husband Wilbur F. Long, daughter Brenda (James) Saunders, Bedford Heights, OH, son Richard Long, Reynoldsburg, OH, daughter Pam (Michael) Short, Blacklick, OH, granddaughters Nicole Short, Dublin, OH and Mia Short, Dublin, OH, great grandson Anderson M. Roldan, Dublin, OH and sister-in-law Sarah Ford, Cincinnati, OH, godsons Christopher (April) Baker, Gahanna, OH, Rickey (Carolyn) Baker, Reynoldsburg, OH. Also cherished friends Mary Baker, Velma Rogers, Daisy Palmer, Helen Eubanks, Dorothy Yates, David Jackson, Lorraine (Alfred) Hill, Marie (William) Walker and a host of loving family and friends. Family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM Thursday, December 4, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Reverend Dr. Shedrick L. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
