Helen M. Rice

Helen M. Rice, age 92, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017. She was born in Siloam, Kentucky on March 25, 1924 to the late William Lee and Ida Mae Jackson. Helen was a 52 year resident of Georgian Heights. She worked as a bookkeeper for numerous automotive dealerships. Helen was a mom to many and the door to her home was always open. She was a WKMVB scorekeeper for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Rice; and 11 siblings, Wayne Jackson, Winifred Simcox, Russell Jackson, Vivian Horton, Glen Jackson, Bonnie Colegrove, Freda Dotson, Virginia Fraley, Nada Stevenson, Douglas Jackson, and Garnet Piatt. Helen is survived by her daughter, Glynda Rice; sister, Dorthy Joy (Fred) Campbell-Miller; special great niece and great nephew, Haley (Daniel) Campbell-Holbrook and Mark A. Campbell; and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Friends may call on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the HOPE and HEART FUNERAL HOME BY SCHOEDINGER, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Service and Burial will take place in South Shore, Kentucky. Bro. Mark Campbell officiating. Interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Young Life or Emmanuel Baptist Church, Salyersville, Kentucky.
