Helen R. Wood

Helen R. Wood, born 7/18/1913 in Belt MT, died 7/8/2016 in Columbus OH. Predeceased by husband of 56 years, Orrin M. Wood. Survived by son, O. Harley Wood (Kathy) of Scottsdale AZ, and daughter, Harriet W. Dana (Bob) of London OH, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Helen earned a degree at the Montana State Normal College in Dillon MT and taught in a one-room school in Belt. Helen had a long and interesting life having resided in Sunburst MT, Santiago de Cuba, Lockport IL, Lawrenceville IL and Columbus OH. She was an avid bridge player and golfer. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church, First Community Church and a 48-year member of the PEO Sisterhood. For her 100th birthday her family, including nieces and nephews, treated her to a weekend celebration in Las Vegas NV. She will be missed. Family will receive friends Sunday, August 7th at 10:00am at the Westminster-Thurber Retirement Community, 717 Neil Ave, Columbus, OH 43215 for a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to a charity of their choice.
