

Herman C. Goldenbagen, age 88, passed away Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community. He was born on May 23, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Fred and Florence (Schultz) Goldenbagen. Herman graduated from West High School in 1946. He served in the United States Marine Corps during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He attended Capital and Franklin Universities, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana Institute of Technology. Herman was a professional Mechanical Engineer and worked for the Mead Corporation for 34 years. Herman married Eleanor Lee Davis on August 28, 1954. They lived and raised their children in Chillicothe for 37 years before returning to Columbus in 1994. Herman was a member of the Scioto Lodge #6 FandAM and former member of Trinity United Methodist Church both in Chillicothe. He was a current member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church. Herman enjoyed golfing, bowling, and camping. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lee Goldenbagen; children, Paula (Fred) Engelhardt, Kurt (Connie) Goldenbagen, and Gregg (Mary Beth Cowardin) Goldenbagen; grandchildren, Tanya Engelhardt, Kennedy Goldenbagen, Griffin Goldenbagen, and Emerson Goldenbagen; special relatives in Germany, Ilse Walther, Florence (Reinhard) Sklenarz and Felix Anton Sklenarz; dear friend, Lieselotte Wulf. Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the Kimes Chapel at Wesley Ridge, 2229 Taylor Park Dr. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Methodist Elder Care.
