

Howard Edwards Rose, 79 years of age and a longtime resident of Worthington, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. He was born June 28, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. Howard was affectionately known as "Big H" to his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and the beach. But, his favorite activity was hunting. He was an avid hunter. Howard was also a very well-read history buff - if you needed to know something from history - he was the person to call. Howard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Velma K. Rose; daughter, Susan R. (Mark) Joseph; brother, Robert Rose; grandchildren, Kent Klawon, Kara (Craig) Neal, Molly Joseph, Jeremy Joseph and Jonathon Joseph; great-granddaughter, Isla Sutton Neal; daughter-in-law, Rossana Klawon. He was preceded in death by his son, Kent Klawon; and sister, Judy Hildebrandt.
Howard was a 1953 graduate of Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles where he was a track star. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1957. And, served as a Captain in the Army Reserve. Howard and Velma have enjoyed their retirement splitting time between Ohio and Naples FL where they own a condo and loved to host friends and family in the winter months.
