Hugh Davies

Hugh Davies, 84, of Columbus, died peacefully in the company of family at Select Specialty Hospital in Victorian Village on July 5, 2022. He was preceded in death by sons Michael and Kevin Davies and is survived by his wife Jan Davies; sister Martha Blasberg; children Greg (Lis) Davies, Scott Davies, Shauna (Walter) Wendt, Penny (John) Tarini, and Mike Holton; grandchildren Brandon (Jill) Chapin, Steph and Anna Davies, Ben Wendt and Grace Holton; great-grandchildren Grant and Adrianna Chapin, and countless other family and friends. Born September 21, 1937 in Pittsburgh, Hugh was raised in Philadelphia and later moved to Columbus. He ended his career alongside Jan, his wife of 43 years, at the State of Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. Hugh loved being in nature, reading books, listening to music, particularly jazz, and spending time with Jan and their family. He had a large and extremely close circle of friends who shared many wonderful experiences together for thirty plus years. Hugh’s wit, humor and adventurous spirit brought joy to many people in his life. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, July 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the Lashutka Event Center, 3479 Riverside Drive, Columbus, 43221.
