Hugh Gordon, age 83, living in Gahanna, Ohio since 1972, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Retired from (AccuRay) ABB in 1994, as a Supervisor and Buyer. Retired from US Air Force after 21 years in 1972 as Master Sergeant (1st SGT). Served during Korean Conflict and Vietnam, receiving the USAF Meritorious Service and Commendation Medals and many other awards. Preceded in death by devoted wife, Catherine Gordon in 1998; parents, John and Margaret Gordon of Youngstown, Ohio; brothers, Pete Gordon of Austintown, Ohio and John Gordon of Lake Milton, Ohio; son-in-law, C.W. Perkins; brothers-in-law, Alex Casalini of Struthers, Ohio and Aldo (Josephine) Casalini of Youngstown, Ohio. Survived by fiancee, Opal June Holub of Gahanna; daughters, Marlene (Blair) Campbell, Cathy Jo Holub both of Gahanna, and Karen (Roger) Stapleton of Walhonding, Ohio; son Hugh C. (Leigh Ann) Gordon of Lancaster, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Glenn, Angie, Mary, John, Josh, Ryan, and Laura; eight great-grandchildren, Mariah, Julian, Tyler, Ashley, Chloe, Tristan, Liam, and Bentley; sister, Margaret Price of Campbell, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Theresa (Darrell) Copping of North Ft. Myers, Florida; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.) Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Dr. John Beckett officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mifflin Township Cemetery.
