

Ignacio “Papi” Padilla, Jr., age 60 of Columbus, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010. He is preceded in death by his son, Kelly McFarland, and sister, Betty Jean Padilla. Ignacio was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and moved to the states at the young age of 15. Throughout his life, family has always remained his primary focus and priority. Papi enjoyed cooking and loved nothing more than preparing his famous rice’n’beans for his family and spending time sharing it together. He was also a very spiritual man. He read the bible daily and you could always hear him singing to the heavens. Papi had a big personality, he loved taking care of his grandchildren, and he always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by his wife of 30 years, Sue Padilla; parents, Ignacio and Regina Padilla; children, Brian (Jan) Graham, Sarah Timson, Micaela (Larry Hammonds) Padilla; and Elena Colon; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Richard, Jose, Emmanuel and Barbara Padilla, and Frances DeFranco; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who he cared for deeply. Funeral services will be held at 12 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER LINDEN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2741 Cleveland Ave., where family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of service.
