

Jack William McCabe, age 22, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Jack was born on March 22, 2001 in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in Upper Arlington and was a member of the Class of 2019 at Upper Arlington High School. Jack was a loving, kind, genuine human being. He was very supportive of others in need and often put their needs above his own. Jack loved music, the outdoors and watching movies and YouTube. Some of his happiest memories were traveling with family to Vermont and Sea Island, Georgia when he was younger and then spending time in the outdoors in Utah and Colorado. Being outdoors brought him happiness, confidence and freedom in a very powerful healing way. Jack was involved for many years in Cub Scouts, Lacrosse, Baseball, Tae Kwon Do. He was a volunteer at Young Kids Vacation Bible School and numerous other activities at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church for many years.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Beverly Boynton Goff, John J. “Jack” McCabe, and Martha Hogan McCabe; and uncle Gerard McCabe. He will be deeply missed by his loving mother Mindy Goff McCabe; father Timothy McCabe of Upper Arlington; sisters Lily McCabe of Brooklyn, NY and Lucy McCabe of Upper Arlington; grandfather William Goff of Williston, VT; uncles and aunts Peter (Donna) Goff of Burlington, VT, John McCabe of Columbus, OH, Marnie (Mark) Mellencamp of Kansas City, MO, Michael (Carolyn) McCabe of Mansfield, OH, Robert McCabe of Helena, MT, Kevin (Laurie) McCabe of Columbus, OH, Andy McCabe of Columbus, OH and Susan (Charles) Barga of Athens, OH; faithful companions Max and Cody; and numerous cousins and friends. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 16, 2023 and immediately following the service family will receive friends from 12:00-3:00pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. In lieu of flowers please consider reaching out to those who are struggling with mental health and/or addiction needs. Please be kind to whomever you meet. These are often silent battles and struggles that people are living with and a kind word, gesture can go a long way.
